Israel To Play First National Team Game

What a week for IFAF news!

Israel is getting ready to play its first national team game. They won’t be facing off against another country, but NCAA Division 3 Maranatha Baptist Bible College, from Watertown, Wisconsin. The game will be played May 17th.

It’s not uncommon for national teams to play U.S. college teams. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology defeated Austria last year, 35-34, in overtime. Western New England defeated Italy this past March, 57-0.

I expect Maranatha to win, but it’s an exciting opportunity for the Israeli National Team. Hopefully soon we’ll see them battling it out against other nearby countries, and one day involved in World Championship qualifiying matches against South Korea and Japan.
